Glass That Dries Clear, Not Spotted
Purified-water rinse so hard water can't leave its mark, construction film taken off new-build glass properly, screens and tracks done, upstairs included.
Builders' Glass Is a Different Job
If your Vandalia house is new, the windows have probably never been properly cleaned — only wiped. There is a difference, and it shows.
Glass leaves the factory with a fine film on it, and a building site adds to that: label adhesive, mortar splash, caulk smears, sometimes a fine mist of overspray. None of it is dirt. A squeegee slides straight over the top and the pane still looks slightly milky in low sun, which is why people decide their new windows are just cheap.
It comes off, but it needs a scraper used properly — correct blade, correct angle, and the glass wet the whole time. Done dry or at the wrong angle you put fine scratches in a brand-new pane and there is no fixing that. It is a one-time job. Once the film is off, normal cleaning keeps it off.
One caution worth knowing: if your windows are tempered or have a coating on the outside, a blade can mark them. We check before anything touches the glass.
Two Kinds of Vandalia Window
The ranch belt: wide panes, low sills, easy access
The 1960s and 70s streets are mostly single-story with big picture windows and sliders. Access is straightforward, which keeps the price down, but the panes are large enough that any streak shows badly. These are the houses where the purified-water rinse earns its keep, because a big flat pane in afternoon sun hides nothing.
The new estates: two stories, more glass, never yet cleaned
The newer developments off South Brown School Road and out toward the airport are two-story with a lot more window area per house. More glass, more of it out of reach, and most of it still carrying its construction film. These take longer on the first visit and are quick after that.
Everything here dries with hard water on it
The whole Miami Valley draws water through limestone, so it comes out of the tap loaded with dissolved calcium. Wash a window with it and the water goes but the minerals stay, as the white haze people read as "still dirty". South-facing glass is always worst because it dries fastest and the minerals set before anyone can wipe them.
What Window Cleaning Costs in Vandalia
From $143 for a small single-story, rising with size and floor count — a second story adds roughly 45% for the reach and setup. First-time construction-film removal on a new build is quoted separately because it is genuinely more work, and it is a one-off.
Bundling saves 12%. Windows plus a house wash, or windows plus the driveway, on the same visit is the cheapest way to buy both.
