Gutter Cleaning Cost in Dayton and Tipp City: What Moves the Price (and Is It Worth It?)

One honest range, then the five things that move it — from a local crew that prices from a photo.

Dayton's curbside leaf collection starts Oct 19 and runs into January 2027 — loose leaves only, for City of Dayton residents. The yard gets raked to the curb, but the gutters are still holding what fell on the roof. That's the job people price this week.

Short answer

Around Dayton and Tipp City, A Team's gutter cleaning runs $100–$200 for a one- or two-story home. Where yours lands depends on linear feet, height, number of downspouts, guards that have to come off, and how long since the last clean. Gutter face brightening is a $75–$150 add-on. What moves the price

Length of the gutter run (linear feet)

Roof footprint is the biggest single factor. A ranch with 120 feet is a different job than a wraparound two-story. More linear feet means more trough to clear by hand and more time on the ladder.

Stories and height

One story vs two changes the ladder work and the time. Two-story runs and steep approaches take longer to do safely. Tell us it's a two-story when you book so we bring the right ladders.

How clogged they are (and how long since the last clean)

A trough cleaned last fall scoops out fast. Years of packed, wet debris, seedlings growing in the gutter, or a downspout packed at the elbow take longer. Every downspout is its own flush and its own possible clog.

Gutter guards

Guards that have to come off and go back on add time. Some lift off easily; some are fastened in a way that makes removal impractical, and we'll say so up front. Tell us what you have when you book. (We're a cleaning company, not a guard installer — see also when to clean gutters in fall for the guards FAQ.)

Access

Steep or soft ground, tight side yards, gates, landscaping beds under the gutter line, and a working outdoor spigot all matter — we flush with water. If your outdoor faucet is already winterized, ask us when you book.

What pulls it down

  • Bundling on one visit. Face brightening or a roof soft wash on the same trip costs less than a separate visit.
  • Regular maintenance. Twice a year is cheaper per visit than a rescue job after years of neglect.
  • Neighbor scheduling. Two or three houses on the same street, same morning — one drive, one setup.

Why gutter cleaning quotes vary so much

Same address, different quotes — usually because the scope isn't the same.

Blower-only vs hand-clearing. Blowing pushes debris into the downspouts and causes the next clog. We scoop and bag.

Downspouts flushed and water run-tested, or not. Clearing the trough without proving flow leaves the clog you called about for next rain.

Debris hauled off, or left on the lawn. Wet gutter sludge is heavy and messy. We bag it and take it with us.

Insured or not. With ladder work, it's fair to ask for proof. We'll provide ours before we start.

Photos of what came out. You shouldn't have to climb up to check. We text photos when the job's done.

Is gutter cleaning worth the cost?

For $100–$200 you get the job done by hand: troughs cleared, every downspout flushed, water run through to prove it drains, debris bagged and hauled, photos when it's done, and a quick roofline and soffit check. If we spot loose spikes, sagging runs, or separated seams, we point them out and photograph them — we don't repair them. We're a cleaning company, not a gutter installer.

DIY is a reasonable call on a single-story home with light leaf drop if you're comfortable on a ladder with standoffs so the ladder doesn't crush the gutter lip, and you're ready to haul wet sludge. Two-story houses and guarded systems are where hiring pays off.

Why skipping it matters in plain language: water that can't drain spills over the edge and down the siding and foundation; packed debris gets heavy and freezes solid in winter. For the freeze timing, see when to clean gutters in fall.

Fall timing and Dayton's leaf pickup

City of Dayton curbside leaf collection started Oct 19, 2026 and runs into Jan 2027, loose leaves only (Leaf Collection Service). That program is for City of Dayton residents; suburbs run their own schedules.

Once most leaves are down, it's the right time for the fall clean. The before-or-after-the-leaves answer lives on our guide to when to clean gutters in fall.

Gutter debris is wet, packed sludge. We bag it and haul it away, so it doesn't end up on your lawn or your curb pile.

Cold weather: gutter cleaning works any day it isn't frozen outside. The real deadline is debris freezing solid in the trough. For the house-wash cold rule, see how cold is too cold.

Roof and gutters in one visit: the $1,500 bundle

Roof clean + sealcoat with free gutter cleaning is $1,500 for an average 2-plane roof. It adds 5+ years of life to the roof and makes it look like new. Larger or complex roofs are quoted separately. Skipping the sealcoat? Gutter cleaning is still free with any roof wash, and roof washes start at $499. Face brightening is still the $75–$150 add-on — the free gutters in the bundle cover the troughs and downspouts, not the outside face. See how a roof and gutter visit works.

The sealcoat needs a 50°F+ day and 24–48 hours to cure, with no freeze while it cures. Gutter cleaning alone only needs a day that isn't frozen. Gutter Cleaning Cost FAQ

The questions we get before every gutter quote.

Around Dayton and Tipp City, A Team's gutter cleaning runs $100–$200 for a single-story or two-story home. Your price depends on gutter length, height, downspouts, guards, and how long it's been since the last clean.
Five things: linear feet of gutter, how many stories, how many downspouts, whether guards have to come off, and how packed the gutters are. Access matters too, like steep ground, tight side yards, or no working outdoor spigot.
Scope. Hand-clearing, flushing every downspout, testing the flow, and hauling the debris away takes longer than blowing leaves off the roofline. Insurance and photos of the finished job are worth asking about too.
Height adds ladder work and time, so a two-story home usually lands higher in the $100–$200 range than a ranch of the same footprint. Tell us it's a two-story when you book so we bring the right ladders.
They can. Guards that have to come off and go back on add time, and some are fastened in a way that makes removal impractical. Tell us what kind you have and we'll be straight with you.
It cleans the outside of the gutter line, where oxidation and road film build up, along with soffit and fascia. It's a $75–$150 add-on to a gutter cleaning.
For most homes, yes. Clogged gutters spill water down the siding and foundation and freeze solid in winter. A professional clean clears the troughs by hand, flushes every downspout, and hauls the mess away, with photos when it's done.
Yes. Gutter cleaning is free with any A Team roof wash, sealcoat or not, and roof washes start at $499. The roof clean + sealcoat bundle is $1,500 for an average 2-plane roof with free gutter cleaning. The sealcoat needs a 50°F+ day and 24–48 hours to cure.
